In just less than 2 hours, thousands of local residents will be enjoying hot coca, coffee, mochas and more as they watch the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade in Long Beach, California.
This annual event has been going on for 26 years and this year is the 27th year. Actor David Lee is the Grand Marshall of the parade. And, he along with all of the attendees and participants need to grab a coat…it is cold this evening here in Long Beach.
- Parade goes from Livingstone to Bayshore and back on 2nd Street

Before your tasty meal of the day with your family and friends, lace up your shoes and head to Long Beach for the annual Turkey Trot through the streets of Long Beach, California. Are you up for an early morning run that starts at 7 am?
7 Reasons Why You Need to Participate in the Long Beach Turkey Trot
- You will burn so many calories during the 5k run, that’s 3.1 miles, that you can have an extra helping of yummy mashed potatoes later in the day.
- If you run the 10k, that’s 6.2 miles, you can have two extra helpings of whatever you want at dinner.
- If you are having the event at your house, you can skip the setting up of Thanksgiving Dinner and delegate to someone else.
- You could have a lot of fun with the adrenial rush of all of the runners and rock n roll music.
- You can meet other people in Long Beach
- You could go and cheer with other residents in the neighborhood
- Wait, I got it, you could walk the 5k or 10k route…I know you can do it.
- What? You say you need more motivation…that will have to come from within…now….

Long Beach Marathon Runs This Weekend

Are you ready to run in the 25th Annual Long Beach Marathon this Sunday?
Only 6 days to go. Over 18,000 runners will be making their last preparations this week for the big marathon that runs through the streets on Long Beach. We hope all of the runners are spending their time carbing up with the right carbohydrates to make it through this 26.2 mile run around Long Beach!!!! Over 2,000 volunteers will be along the course route to assist the runners with their race.
Are You Ready to Run the Marathon?
The starting point is down at Shoreline Village. The runners will be heading down the walking path on Long Beach to Ocean Drive in Belmont Shore and up to the Colorado Lagoon and unto Cal State Long Beach and back to Shoreline Village.
- If you live in Belmont Shore, park in Belmont Heights if you have to go some where on Sunday morning like church. All streets along the course will be closed at 5 am on Sunday.
Before Sunday, you can check out and attend the Health and Fitness Expo from 12 pm to 7 pm on Friday and 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday at the Long Beach Convention Center. Admission is free at the Convention Center but parking is $10. For more information about the marathon in Long Beach, visit their Long Beach Marathon Race site.
