When Do You Need a Home Inspection Company?

After your offer has been accepted, you should call a home inspection company to come out to inspect the property. Your Realtor^® is your best resource for a list of home inspectors. While no Realtor^® can guarantee the work of a referral or reference, that is the first person to check with.

In California, you have, 17 days after the acceptance of your offer to complete all inspections on the property. The 17 day period is negotiable in your contract. Consult your Realtor^® for more details. Don't wait until the 17th day. It takes time to schedule the appointment with the seller and for you to receive a report from the home inspection company.

We recommend that you be present at the inspection if possible. The home inspector will point out and go over the report with you and you can get answers to many questions and tips for maintenance. Below is a list of home inspectors:
